From 17 to 20 April 2023, in the framework of the IC2PerMed project, the first visit of the Chinese Delegation to Italy was organized by Fondazione Telethon. The primary aim of this event was for the Chinese and European partners of the project to finally get together after three years of strict online interaction and collaboration.
The first two days (17th and 18th April) took place in Rome in the premises of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC), where Stefania Boccia, Director of the Section of Hygiene of the Department of Health Science and Public Health of UCSC, with her team, welcomed the Chinese colleagues.
They exchanged and discussed on the activities and outputs of the European and Chinese perspectives on Personalised Medicine.
The second part was held in Milan in the Human Technopole and then in the San Raffaele Telethon Institute of Gene Therapy. To give an overview of their research results, several (technical) speakers and guests, from European and Chinese partners gave scientific talks on Genomics & Rare Diseases.
This week was filled with a combination of presentations and visits such as research facilities, research institutes, omics centers and technopoles.
